OJEU notice issued for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Related Services
Following extensive market research and detailed consultations with customers, stakeholders and suppliers, Buying Solutions has issued an OJEU notice for Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) and Related Services, via the Bravosolution eSourcing service.
The aim is to provide technically competent and robust systems offering the maximum flexibility for customers to choose the solution that best fits their needs.
The tender will consist of a number of lots covering AMR solutions for electricity, gas and water, sub-metering and other utilities including fuel oil and Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG).
Said Alan Ward, AMR Service Development Specialist:
Climate change and sustainability are high on the Government's agenda and the data available through AMR will enable the public sector to meet its Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), SOGE and sustainability targets.
The data provided by AMR allows organisations to see how much energy has been used and when it has been used - key requirements for better energy management and carbon reduction.
AMR facilitates benchmarking, measures the impact of carbon reduction initiatives and can be used to track progress against targets.
Last but not least AMR will help to put an end to energy bills based on estimated readings and reduce inaccurate billing.
Buying Solutions expects the new arrangements to go live in September.
