Buying Solutions is pleased to announce the appointment of Mark Robinson as its new Utilities Category Director.

Mark has spent nearly a decade in the utilities industry working firstly for a supplier, RWE Npower and then a major energy consultant, British Independent Utilities.

He brings a wealth of experience in both energy trading and management and has been a member of Mensa, the high IQ society, since the age of six - at the time the youngest person ever to be invited to join!

"Clearly I have joined Buying Solutions at a very challenging time for all of us, given the turbulence in the energy marketplace and the world economy as a whole.

"I think my hands on experience in the energy industry in recent years means that I am well placed to get stuck into the task at hand very quickly.

"I look forward to speaking to customers either in person or by telephone in the very near future to talk about the issues that public sector organisations are facing and how our managed service is evolving to meet today's requirements.

"One of my key priorities is for us to be more customer focussed and to ramp up our customer contact process. By improving our dialogue with customers we will be able to respond more quickly to issues and to manage expectations more effectively."
